Program Start Dates
Programming start dates for Peak Season Programming/Summer of 2009 begin June 27th, July 18th, August 8th, August 29th, and September 19th.

October 10th 2009 through June of 2010, volunteer opportunities will be designed on a group basis. Please contact Valerie Taormina at valerie@utbt.org or Meg Fitzgerald at meg@utbt.org for more information on these opportunities. To apply, submit an application with a cover letter describing the proposed length of stay and start dates.

Program Fees
Peak Season (June through October):
3 weeks at 2100 USD
Additional Week Program Fee: 350 USD per week
*Discount for groups of 5 or more who sign up together will receive the Off-Peak Season Program Fee during Peak Season Programming.

Off-Peak Season Program (November through May):
3 weeks at 1500 USD
Additional Week Program Fee: 250 USD per week

Program Fees include individually curtailed volunteer project to maximize efficacy. Transportation to and from Lilongwe or Blantyre International Airport, 24-hour secure and comfortable accommodation including mosquito nets, bed/bath facilities, three square meals per day, Chichewa instruction (native tribal dialect of Namaso Bay), safe drinking water, cultural excursions, and assistance in safe local tourism planning.

What’s Not Included?
Round trip flight to Lilongwe or Blantyre International Airport in Malawi. Get your flight now! We suggest exploring www.kayak.com for the best travel deals.

Medical Evacuation Insurance
Cell phone and internet available, but not included in program fee
Local transportation outside of programming

What Is Required Before You Come?
Program Fee due one month prior to start date.
Flight should be purchased as soon as you are admitted into program and have secured your start date.

Passport valid for at least six months beyond date of intended departure and at least two full blank pages available if flying through South Africa.
Immunizations and Malaria Prophylaxes.

*300 USD Deposit required upon application submission. Deposit fee will be returned if not accepted into program. Deposit fee is non-refundable fee after acceptance and will be applied toward overall Program Fee.
